Miller, along with her nephew, Philip Bylund, challenged the current Board to raise $15,000 in 30 days. If this task was accomplished, Miller and Bylund agreed to match the funds, resulting in a total donation of $30,000.
“I really wanted to make my donation work in a larger way,” Miller explained. “When my nephew heard of this, he immediately added his donation due to the loving care Samaritan showed his Mother during her battle with cancer. The Board stepped right up to the plate and made the match happen!”
Samaritan Counseling is a 501(c)3 organization and raises funds throughout the year to support their mission of providing excellent, professional, spiritually integrated counseling services. Samaritan offers counseling for individuals, couples, professionals, families and children, at eight locations throughout Sarasota and Manatee counties. Each counselor or social worker is fully licensed by the State of Florida to provide these services.
The next large fundraising opportunity for Samaritan will be at their Annual Luncheon and Silent Auction, held this year on Wednesday, April 13 at Michaels on East. Tickets and sponsorships are still available, but seating is limited for this event. Funds raised at the Luncheon will support the mission of Samaritan Counseling Services of the Gulf Coast.
