Most of your locations are in churches. Do I have to be a church attendee/religious person to utilize your services?

At Samaritan, our services are available to anyone who may need them. We are a spiritually-integrated counseling facility, which means we will include your faith as a counseling resource to the degree you desire. However, you do not need to be attending church or to claim a specific religion to see our counselors.

How do I know which counselor is best for me?

During our intake process, you will be asked some questions that will help us to determine which counselor would be the best fit for the services you are requesting. Requests for a specific counselor will be honored whenever possible; however, SCS reserves the right to assign therapists based on office requested, therapist’s time available, insurance specifications and the modality needed to suit the client’s needs.

I work Monday through Friday from 8:00am – 5:00pm. Do you have other hours available?

Do you accept insurance?

Yes, we do accept most insurance and can help you with your specific coverage when you call to make an appointment. You may also call the toll free number on the back of your insurance card to see if your plan includes counseling benefits and if our counselors are on your panel.
If counseling is covered, please make sure to ask for the following information:

  • Number of sessions allowed per year and if preauthorization is needed (Preauthorization must be obtained prior to scheduling first appointment)
  • Amount of the co-pay if any
  • Amount of the deductible if any and how much of it you have met
  • Is your counselor on the insurance company’s panel (if necessary)

Please come 15 minutes early for your first appointment with your completed forms, your insurance card (or a copy of the front AND back), and the pre-authorization number or document.

What if I don’t have insurance or my plan does not include counseling benefits?

A standard fee is charged for all appointments. We are also able to provide counseling to a limited number of clients with financial difficulties through a subsidy fund. Please discuss this matter with your counselor. All major credit cards are accepted for payment for your counseling services. Unless other arrangements have been made, payment is expected when services are rendered.

What is your policy on privacy and confidentiality?

Our counselors are bound by the code of ethical conduct of their professional licensing boards, the Samaritan Institute and state law. Further details regarding confidentiality are contained in our Privacy Policy and Disclosure Statements.
